It looks more like a haunted house, but this defunct historic lighthouse sits on a beach in The Hamptons, Long Island New York. The super narrow stretch of beach juts way out into the ocean. As the tides ebb and flow at many times the tiny stretch of beach between the lighthouse and the land is underwater!

Cedar Island Lighthouse, whose light has been removed for restoration, is located in Cedar Point Beach, East Hampton, NY. |

It does kind of look like a haunted house! I would love to take Ruby to the Hamptons some day.
Wow, that looks pretty ominous in B&W! That's amazing it has held up so well with the tide surrounding it and everything.

I absolutely love lighthouses! I want to go to the east coast and see them. We saw a few on our Alaskan cruise and they are so cool.
It's a great place for dogs but there are a lot of restrictions on beach access, otherwise it's pretty dog friendly! Thanks for stopping by today!
I know right!? It's so spooky in Black & White! I can't believe it's still standing and in reasonably good conditions given the salt water & air, waves, high tides, etc. Thanks for stopping by today Jen!
Me too! One of my goals is to do a Lighthouse Tour of the East coast of the U.S. So many cool lighthouses! Thanks for stopping by today!
Thanks, I love lighthouses too. they're so beautiful and they all look so different everywhere you go, yet performing the same function. Thanks for stopping by!
It was really fun, although the tide started rising as we were hiking back to the beach in late afternoon - Yikes! Thanks for stopping by today Dolly!
