According to the American Kennel Club's (AKC) Canine Health Foundation, Epilepsy is one of the most common neurologic diseases found in dogs. Epilepsy refers to seizures that occur repeatedly over a period of time. It is estimated that Canine Epilepsy effects as many as 5% of all dogs! That is one scary statistic!
Last weekend we attended the Canine Epilepsy Awareness Expo and Fundraiser in Long Island, New York, an event held to help raise awareness about Canine Epilepsy.
These two beauties showed up to lend a paw and help raise awareness about Canine Epilepsy! |
The event was sponsored by
The Empire State Snow Dog Club and the
Petco in Garden City Park, Long Island, NY. Unfortunately the weather was super HOT and humid that day so we elected not to bring our dogs with us to the event. Fortunately some other folks stopped by with their dogs to lend support for Canine Epilepsy awareness, so we definitely got our puppy fix!
Jodi and Bruce Ekberg of
The Husky Brothers did a
great job of organizing this fun event and made the best of it despite the inclement weather and despite the fact that one of their 4 beautiful amazing Huskies, Frankie, was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jodi and Bruce and their special boy, Frankie.
These two adorable Huskies were chatting it up with each other, probably asking "When do you think they'll bring out the hot dogs?" |
I spent a few bucks at the Hug A Husky photo booth, I had to get me some Husky Lovin'! |
Getting some love at the Hug A Husky photo booth from Jodi's beautiful dog Tsar! |
The food booth at the event where we got some much needed Italian ices, and a hot dog of course! |
There were some wonderful vendors that came out to show their support for Canine Epilepsy despite the crummy weather!
We bought one of these Pet Hair Go-Go pet hair removers. It looks like a sponge & works really well! |
The folks from In Home Pet Services were so nice! They were voted Best Pet Sitting & Boarding in 2014, by the Best Of Long Island Press! |
Two more gorgeous pups checking out the scene! |
How delicious do these doggie cookies from Paula's Puppy Pantry look? |
May I please have one of Paula's cookies? I am in need of a Nom-Nom! |
NY State Retriever Rescue was there to lend their support. We were bummed because they had adoptable pups there, but took them back home because of the heat so we didn't get to see them - and love on them! We understand though, given the heat and humidity. |
K-9 Kingdom dog training of W. Babylon New York was there with one of their adorable expertly trained pups! |
Tsar rests on his brother Cain's haunches, they're both pooped after helping to raise awareness about Canine Epilepsy! |

What a cool event! It is amazing how many dogs suffer from epilepsy. I never knew that until I started reading dog blogs. I hope that the event was able to raise a lot of money for the dogs!

Hello everybody ,please this testimony is true life story ,is real ,am a very honest man ,i can never post false testimony on social media ,so let me go straight to the point .me and my wife was diagnosed with HPV/WART for two years, living a life of fear for two good years .until one day i saw a post about a good herbalist in west Africa curing people from a deadly disease, such HIV/AIDS, HERPES,(Genetal warts) (HSV1, HSV2), (HPV) ACUTE RETROVIRAL SYNDROME (ARS), CANCER, VITILIGO, DIABETES, HEPATITIS B. CANCER, CELIAC, ALS, CHLAMYDIA, STROKE and any kind of Deadly DISEASES,with his herbal medicine , i thought it was not true, then i said let me try ,because am used to trying ,i have been trying for two years, until that day GOD wipe my tears, with DR Oduku, He his gifted ,and he is so honest ,so easy to get along with ,so after i contacted him via his email. odukuherbalremedies@gmail.com or http://odukuherbalremedies.blogspot.com/),so he replied and said my problem is solved that i must stop thinking,so i believed and have faith that i will be cured ,so i purchased the herbal medicine and he sent the herbal medicine to me through courier service ,when i received it ,he told me how to use it ,so i followed exactly the way he said i must use it,he said i will be totally cured after two weeks ,so after two week i went to see our family doctor he tested me and said am negative ,i was so happy i thought i was dreaming ,please don:t ignore this post ,if you think is not real try and you will testify just like me ....thanks to DR Oduku ,GOD BLESS you sir.
