Mom grows tomatoes and lots of flowers! The veggies are all grown organically; no pesticides & only organic fertilizers |
I GUESS FALL IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER AND THAT MEANS OUR DAYS OF PUTTERING IN THE GARDEN AND PLAYING ON THE BEACH WILL SOON BE OVER.
I love to lounge in Ma's garden, it's so cozy! |
WITH ALL SUPER HOT WEATHER WE'VE BEEN HAVING IN THE NORTHEAST AND ALL THE HEAT & HUMIDITY WE'VE HAD A RECORD NUMBER OF STAYING INDOORS DAYS. IT WAS JUST TOO DARN HOT TO GO OUTSIDE & PLAY!
I love these pretty flowers, they're SO tall! |
Beautiful Springtime flowers near our former home in Arizona. |
No too many more beach days for us. They'll be replaced with romping in the leaves instead of on the beach! |

Well, our mom will be sorry to see Summer go, but not us Sibes!!! Bring on the cold! Bring on the snow!!! At least get us out of the 100s!!!
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
PS: The toy you saw me with is a GoughNut! It is one of the few toys Mom can leave down for me all the time -- I'm a very strong chewer! I can destroy the black KONGS in a matter of a few minutes. Impressive, no? But I haven't even put a dent in my GoughNut toys!
Sounds like a good plan. It's nutty how fast time goes

Our summers don't usually leave until October. It stays so hot here. We are never sad to see it go. Your garden is GORGEOUS!!!
While it has been really hot, we don't want it to get too cold yet!
LOL! With Icy our Husky in the house, we hear ya! Icy is a serious chewer with destroyer chompers!
OMD, it's ridiculous that it will be September in 11 days!
Aww, thanks for the compliment on my garden. Phoenix stayed hot until October too, but as soon as Labor Day ends it should be much more comfortable here in NY!
I know what you mean, some lovely crisp Fall weather would be so nice!
Summer is too short here in NH, and I don't think we ever do everything we wanted too! But we've been getting Sheba for lots of swims, so there is that anyway.
Love your Mom's gardening practices - yay for organic gardening! Do you know what those tall flowers are? I have a whole bunch of them at our new house here but I don't know what they're called?

It's crazy, right? How did summer fly by so fast? I do like fall though because it's not quite as hot for getting out and doing some longer hikes I will miss all those gorgeous flowers though. :)
I'm glad Sheba has been getting some swimming in, that's great! I think the tall pink flowers are Phlox, they grow really well and are easy to propogate; when they get bug just rip out a chunk of the plant w/ some roots and plant it somewhere! I love NH, it's so beautiful there.
It's unbelievable how fast this Summer flew by! Too much going on for us this year. I am looking forward to crisp, cool Fall weather and hiking!
We are summer fans here too. Fall is nice, but summer is always so vibrant and makes us smile. Enjoy the last days.
I thought they looked like phlox but had never seen them so tall before! I only knew the spring ground cover type. I just love them, and they smell so sweet too. I'm definitely going to move some to other parts of the yard (they're pet safe too!).
