WELL, CHRISTMAS AND HANUKKAH ARE OVER AND THAT MEANS ANOTHER YEAR HAS COME TO A CLOSE. 2016 WAS NOT THE BEST YEAR. WE LOST A LOT OF INCREDIBLE PEOPLE, BELOVED MUSICIANS AND ACTORS AMONG THEM. WE SAID A TEARFUL GOODBYE TO DAVID BOWIE, GLENN FREY, PRINCE, GEORGE MICHAEL, ALAN RICKMAN, CARRIE FISHER & HER MOM DEBBIE REYNOLDS THE VERY NEXT DAY, HARPER LEE (AUTHOR OF TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD), NANCY REAGAN, DORIS ROBERTS, PATTY DUKE, GENE WILDER, FLORENCE HENDERSON, AND OTHERS. TOO MANY TO MENTION HERE. MANY OF THESE VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE LEFT THIS EARTH WAY TOO SOON!
WE HAD AN UNPRECEDENTED, TOTALLY INSANE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION THAT DIVIDED NOT ONLY OUR COUNTRY, BUT FRIENDS AS WELL. I CANNOT IMAGINE LOSING A FRIEND OVER POLITICAL VIEWS. FRIENDSHIP SHOULD TRANSCEND CRAP LIKE THAT, DON'T YOU THINK? AS WE'VE SEEN, LIFE IS WAY TO SHORT FOR THAT!

I HAD MY OWN PERSONAL LOSS IN 2016. I LOST MY BELOVED MOTHER IN MAY. I'M SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO HAVE HAD BOTH MY PARENTS WITH ME UNTIL THEY WERE IN THEIR 90's. I KNOW I COULDN'T REASONABLY ASK FOR MORE THAN THAT. I AM NOT ONE TO GRIEVE OUT IN THE OPEN, SO I'LL JUST SAY GOODBYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE, 2016!!

I'm happy to see Icy and Phoebe ha such a wonderful and bountiful Christmas. I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother, I too will be happy to see 2016 gone as we also lost someone only a few weeks before Christmas. All the best to you and your family for 2017!

Oh Cathy, I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. This has been an emotional year. Lots of changes. I'm ready for 2017. The best to you and yours in the New Year!
I am so honored that you shared your sweet mom with all of us - you have been blessed. Phoebe and Icy and just lovely and clearly are loved - they always looks to photogenic and happy! 2016 was a bugger, that's for sure - losing so many great artists and a whole bunch of other unpleasantries. Here's hoping 2017 is much better (even though we're all a little edgy - we can support one another)!

2016 had some great moments for me personally, but I have to admit the politics drove me crazy. I try to be optimistic, but I am very concerned for the future of our country and honestly, the world.
I hope 2017 will be much better too, Amy!

Thank you! I'm glad you like their photo, they are such great models. This was a professional photo shoot and the photographer got the shot in like 3 minutes. She was so pleased with how good they were posing. She said they were so good that "they deserve a steak for this!" LOL!! I couldn't agree more. All the best to you and Kilo in the new year!

She was one of a host, as you say who we lost. As someone who loved Carrie Fisher and Alan Rickman in particular their losses hit hard. What a year it's been.
Your two must light up the days for you both pups made me smile so much in this post, I am SURE Icy didn't take ALL the presents *g*.

I'm sorry you lost your Mother. Happy though that you have your pack and everyone enjoyed the holidays. I have decided to postpone my new year celebrations until after surgery I'm having later this month. February will be my month to celebrate. I look forward to a fabulous year from then!

Sorry for your loss. On our end 2016 was really good to us. The US politics drove us bonkers (Canadian) but on the whole it was a really good year. We got engaged so ... :)
Thank you Marjorie, yes my Mom was incredible. To see someone so SMART and so interested in everything slowly decline mentally and lose treasured memories is more than heartbreaking. I'm so thankful that I have my dogs to comfort and inspire me! I hope 2017 will be great for you as well, in every way!
